Wamena – The Jayawijaya Regency Government (Pemkab) continues to strengthen cleaning services in Wamena City as part of the effort to create a healthy, comfortable, and organized environment. Through the Environmental Service (DLH), local governments optimize the operation of the garbage transport fleet every day to ensure the cleanliness of urban areas is maintained.
A total of 20 garbage transport fleets are deployed every day to serve various areas in Wamena City. The fleet consists of 15 units of trucks and 5 units of three-wheeled vehicles used to transport garbage from settlements and public facilities to the designated disposal location.
Executive (Plt.) Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Environment Office, Idawati Waromi Murib, said that the deployment of the fleet is a form of local government commitment in providing optimal cleaning services to the community.
“Every day we operate 15 trucks and five three-wheeled vehicles to serve garbage transportation in Wamena City. This step is part of the effort to provide the best service so that the cleanliness of the environment is maintained,” said Idawati in Wamena, Monday.
In addition to operating a fleet of garbage carriers, DLH cleaning officers also carry out various environmental maintenance activities since the morning. Starting from sweeping roads, cleaning weeds in public facilities, to transporting garbage from a number of points that have been designated as service locations.
According to Idawati, all cleaning officers started working from 06.00 WIT to ensure the condition of Wamena City remains clean and comfortable for the active people.
To support the effectiveness of the service, the local government urges the public to comply with the set waste disposal schedule. Residents are asked to dispose of garbage from 18.00 WIT to 06.00 WIT, so that the transportation process can be carried out optimally without disturbing community activities or city cleanliness during the day.
“We urge the entire community to dispose of garbage according to the schedule that has been determined. With joint discipline, the cleanliness of Wamena City will be better and the garbage transportation service can run more effectively,” he said.
He added that the timing of garbage disposal is part of the local government’s strategy in creating a more orderly hygiene governance as well as supporting the vision and mission of the Regent and Vice Regent of Jayawijaya to realize Wamena as a peaceful, safe, comfortable, and beautiful city.
Through the optimization of the cleanliness fleet, the improvement of the performance of field officers, and the active participation of the community in maintaining the cleanliness of the environment, the Jayawijaya Regency Government hopes that the culture of clean living will grow in the community. The move is expected to not only create a healthy and beautiful environment, but also improve the quality of life of the community and strengthen the image of Wamena City as the capital of Jayawijaya Regency that is clean, orderly, and comfortable.
