Yahukimo — The Carstensz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force, together with the Yahukimo Police, successfully escorted six ships carrying fuel and food supplies to Yahukimo Regency to ensure the community’s needs were met amid potential security disturbances in Papuan waters.
The escorts were carried out from Friday (May 8) to Saturday evening (May 9), arriving at Logpon Dekai Port, Yahukimo Regency from Suator District Port, Asmat Regency.
During this activity, personnel secured the logistics ships transporting basic necessities, including fuel and basic necessities, through several vulnerable points along the river route, such as Burbis Village, Kolof Braza District, and Batu Braza Village.
Security measures were taken to anticipate potential security disturbances in the waters, which had previously occurred on Monday (May 4th) by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
After the logistics ship safely arrived at Logpon Dekai Port, personnel from the Cartensz 2026 Peace Operations Task Force, along with the Yahukimo Police, conducted a strength check at the Logpon Police Post before returning to the Yahukimo Police Station.
The Head of the Cartensz 2026 Peace Operations, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that securing logistics distribution routes is a crucial part of maintaining the stability of community life in the interior of Papua.
“Smooth logistics distribution is a vital need for the community. The presence of officers in this escort ensures that the community continues to receive safe and timely access to basic necessities,” said the Head of the Cartensz Peace Operations.
He explained that the river route to Yahukimo presents geographical challenges and potential security disturbances, necessitating personnel readiness in every security task.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that his team will continue to strengthen security along logistics distribution routes with high levels of vulnerability.
“The presence of personnel in the field is expected to provide a sense of security for the community while ensuring the continuity of economic activity,” he said.
In addition to providing security, personnel from the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force are also building coordination with communities along the waterways to strengthen early detection of potential security disturbances.
The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force ensures that securing logistics distribution to the interior of Papua will continue to be a priority to support security stability and community activities in Yahukimo Regency.
