Breaking the Logistics and Ammunition Chain of KKB, Cartenz Peace Task Force Secures 5 People in Nabire

Nabire – The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force succeeded in securing five people who were suspected of being sympathizers as well as logistics and ammunition suppliers to the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Aibon Kogoya in Nabire Regency.

The crackoff is part of the apparatus’s efforts to break the logistics and ammunition distribution chain to armed groups operating in the Nabire area and its surroundings.

Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., when confirmed by the media crew on Friday (3/13/2026) explained that based on the results of the intelligence investigation, the team first arrested two people who were suspected of having links to the logistics of the Aibon Kogoya group, namely PW alias PM and PNW, on Tuesday (10/3/2026).

“From the results of the investigation of both of them, PW alias PM is known to have met twice with the Aibon Kogoya group to deliver food in two different locations,” explained the Head of Public Relations.

A day after securing PW and PNW, the authorities again secured two other people with the initials YW (28) and LW (29) while passing by using a black Honda Verza motorcycle to deliver food to the KKB group led by Aibon Kogoya. But before the plan was carried out, the officers first secured the two and immediately took them to the Nabire Police Station to undergo further examination and deepening.

“The team also confiscated a number of evidence from the hands of YW and LW including several mobile phone units, identity cards, ATM cards, BPJS Kesehatan cards, Jamkesmas cards, and various personal equipment such as noken, head flashlights, powerbanks, and batteries. In addition, the officers also secured one unit of a black Honda Verza motorcycle that was used when the two passed by the location and a wooden patterned knife,” he added.

Not only the logistics supplier, the apparatus also succeeded in securing D alias LA, who was suspected of acting as a liaison in the distribution of ammunition to the Aibon Kogoya group on the same day around 19.55 WIT at an entertainment venue in Nabire.

“Based on the results of the initial inspection, D admitted that he had sold around 100 pieces of ammunition to someone with the initials SP with a price of around Rp250,000 per piece. The transaction is said to be carried out through the intermediary of a man with the initials H, who is suspected to be the party that provides ammunition,” explained the Head of Public Relations.

The Head of Public Relations also emphasized that all actions carried out by the apparatus have gone through clear legal procedures. This is also to respond to various incorrect information circulating in the community.

“We from the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force are committed to working professionally, transparently, and accountable. Therefore, we convey this information to correct various hoax news that are circulating, as if the authorities are arresting five people in Nabire without a clear administrative basis and warrants,” said Yusuf.

He emphasized that the five people who were arrested had long been part of the monitoring of the authorities through an in-depth investigation process.

“We have been monitoring these five people for a long time, not being arrested suddenly. Based on the intelligence network that we obtained, both through Humint and Sigint, we can finally conclude their involvement. This process has also gone through intensive examination and investigation stages,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Peace Operations Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the steps taken by the apparatus are part of the effort to maintain security stability in the Papua region through professional and measurable law enforcement.

“We will continue to develop this case to ensure that the network involved can be revealed thoroughly,” said Brigadier General Faizal.

On the other hand, Deputy Head of Cartenz 2026 Peace Operations, Chief Commissioner of police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that the disclosure was part of the apparatus’s strategy in breaking the logistics and ammunition supply chain to armed criminal groups.

“Deening is still being carried out on the five people in order to find out their respective roles and the possibility of involvement of other parties,” he said.

Currently, the five people are still undergoing the examination process at the Nabire Police Station. The apparatus ensures that the entire case handling process is carried out in accordance with the applicable legal provisions by prioritizing the principles of professionalism, accountability, and legal certainty.

The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force also appealed to the public to remain calm and not easily influenced by information that has not been verified, and entrust the handling of the case to law enforcement officers.

Through measurable law enforcement measures, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force emphasized its commitment to continue to maintain the security and order of the community in Papua in a professional and sustainable manner.
