Nabire – The Central Papua Provincial Government has officially launched the construction of an integrated government complex in Nabire, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday (December 27, 2025).
The project includes the construction of the Governor’s Office, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the Papua People’s Assembly (MRP), as well as three office towers that will serve as the administrative center of the province.
Central Papua Governor Meki Nawipa stated that the development is a strategic step to improve public service delivery in the province, which has only been established for three years as a New Autonomous Region.
“This integrated government center will serve as a strong foundation to provide faster, more effective, and equitable public services for the people of Central Papua,” Nawipa said during the ceremony.
According to the former Paniai Regent, centralized and adequate government facilities are crucial to strengthening coordination among government institutions and enhancing professionalism, transparency, and accountability in governance.
He emphasized that the project reflects the provincial government’s broader vision of building a public-oriented administration that truly serves the people.
“This development is not merely about constructing buildings, but about laying the groundwork for a strong, fair, and service-driven government. It represents our commitment to making Central Papua a progressive and dignified province,” he added.
The strategic project is being carried out with strong support from the Central Government, particularly the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
Governor Nawipa expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders who have contributed to accelerating infrastructure development in the young province.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, as well as members of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), symbolizing the state’s full support for development and governance strengthening in Papua.
