Jayapura — A joyful atmosphere filled North Jayapura District, Bhayangkara Sub-district, Jayapura City, as personnel of the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 engaged with the local community by distributing Christmas gift packages to children on Monday, December 22, 2025. The activity formed part of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) humanitarian approach aimed at strengthening social bonds and maintaining a safe and conducive environment ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
The activity, which took place at around 2:00 p.m. WIT in the APO area of Jayapura, was warmly welcomed by children who enthusiastically received the gift packages directly from the Cartenz Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force personnel.
Beyond the distribution of gifts, the presence of police officers also conveyed a sense of security and happiness to the community, particularly to the younger generation.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the activity reflected the tangible role of Polri as the representation of the state in spreading messages of peace throughout the Land of Papua.
“Papua is a land of peace. Through humanitarian activities such as this, we aim to provide a sense of security and happiness, as well as to strengthen brotherhood, particularly among children as the next generation,” he said.
A similar emphasis was conveyed by the Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., who highlighted that a humanitarian strategy serves as a key foundation in maintaining security stability in Papua.
“We prioritize approaches that touch the hearts of the community. Our presence is not only to maintain security, but also to share happiness, especially during the Christmas season, which is filled with love and compassion,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., encouraged the people of Papua to actively participate in maintaining public order and security throughout the Christmas celebrations.
“We invite all elements of society to work together in maintaining security and public order, so that Christmas celebrations can take place safely, peacefully, and joyfully,” he said.
From an academic perspective, Papuan scholar Dr. Alfius Aninam, S.Th., M.Pd., viewed the activity as a strategic step in building public trust and emotional closeness between Polri and the Papuan community, particularly among children.
“Activities like this carry strong educational and social value. Children not only receive gifts, but also experience the presence of a caring and compassionate state. This is important for instilling values of peace and security from an early age,” Dr. Alfius said.
He added that the humanitarian approach implemented by the Cartenz Peace Operation demonstrates how security and humanitarian values can go hand in hand in Papua.
“Such persuasive and humanitarian approaches deserve appreciation, as they are able to build social harmony and strengthen the spirit of togetherness, especially during the Christmas season, which conveys strong messages of love and peace,” he concluded.
Through this activity, the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 continues to strengthen synergy between Polri and the community while fostering a spirit of togetherness to support the realization of a safe, peaceful, and harmonious Papua.
