Jayapura — Personnel of the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 carried out a humanitarian activity by distributing Christmas gift packages and presents to children in the North Jayapura District, Bhayangkara Sub-district, Jayapura City, on Monday, December 22, 2025. The activity was conducted as part of efforts to strengthen relations between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the community, as well as to create a peaceful atmosphere ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the activity represents the presence of the state through Polri in spreading messages of peace throughout the Land of Papua.
“Papua is a land of peace. Through humanitarian activities such as this, we aim to provide a sense of security and happiness, while strengthening brotherhood, especially for children as the next generation,” he said.
The distribution of Christmas gift packages took place at approximately 2:00 p.m. WIT in the APO area of Jayapura. The children were seen enthusiastically and joyfully receiving the gifts, which were handed out directly by personnel of the Cartenz Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force.
The Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that a humanitarian approach remains one of the main strategies in maintaining security stability in Papua.
“We prioritize approaches that touch the hearts of the community. Our presence is not only to maintain security, but also to share happiness, especially during the Christmas season, which is filled with love and compassion,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., called on all elements of Papuan society to jointly maintain public security and order throughout the Christmas celebrations.
“We invite the entire community to work together in maintaining security and public order so that Christmas celebrations can take place safely, peacefully, and joyfully,” he said.
In addition, Papuan academic figure Dr. Alfius Aninam, S.Th., M.Pd., assessed the activity as a positive step in building trust and emotional closeness between Polri and the Papuan community, particularly among the younger generation.
“Activities like this carry strong educational and social value. Children not only receive gifts, but also experience the presence of a caring and compassionate state. This is important for instilling values of peace and security from an early age,” Dr. Alfius explained.
He added that the humanitarian approach implemented by the Cartenz Peace Operation serves as a concrete example of how security and humanity can go hand in hand in Papua.
“Such persuasive and humanitarian approaches deserve appreciation, as they are able to build social harmony and strengthen the spirit of togetherness, especially during the Christmas season, which conveys strong messages of love and peace,” he concluded.
Through this activity, the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 hopes to further strengthen synergy between Polri and the community and to foster a spirit of togetherness in realizing a safe and peaceful Papua.
