Jayapura — Reverend Dr. Yones Wenda emphasized that maintaining peace and security in Papua is a shared responsibility between security forces and the community. His statement was delivered alongside his appreciation for the Operation Peaceful Cartenz Task Force, Friday (December 19, 2025).
He stated that the current stable security situation is the result of sustained efforts by security personnel, which must be preserved through public cooperation.
“Security is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement. It requires awareness and participation from the community,” Reverend Yones explained.
He urged residents to avoid acts of violence, reject misleading information, and refrain from actions that could disrupt public order. According to him, peaceful conditions are crucial for ensuring that the Christmas season can be observed calmly and safely.
