Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) explained their reasons for still questioning the former personal driver and regular barber of the late Lukas Enembe as witnesses in the investigation of alleged corruption involving the Papua governor’s operational funds. KPK emphasized that this case does not only involve Lukas Enembe, who has passed away, but also other related parties.
“The criminal acts of corruption that occurred were not isolated. This means it was not only committed by Lukas Enembe himself, but also involved other parties, especially related to operational funds. In this case, there are regional secretaries and other provincial officials who were involved when the corruption took place. Therefore, investigators will seek accountability from those involved,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the Merah Putih Building, KPK Headquarters, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (21/10/2025).
Furthermore, Asep added that summoning close associates of Lukas Enembe was intended to ensure the recovery of state financial losses could be maximized.
“The state financial loss amounts to nearly Rp 1 trillion, mainly from the use of operational funds—used for food, drinks, and other necessities. The daily amount is almost Rp 1 billion. If accumulated over three years, the total loss could reach nearly Rp 1 trillion,” Asep explained.
Previously, KPK had summoned Lukas Enembe’s former personal driver, Basuki Rahmat Suminta, on October 17, 2025. Meanwhile, his regular barber, Budi Hermawan, was called on October 21, 2025.
In this case, KPK has named suspects, namely Dius Enumbi (DE), as the treasurer responsible for expenditure assistance for the Papua regional head, and Lukas Enembe himself. The estimated state loss in this case is around Rp 1.2 trillion.
KPK also plans to seize Lukas Enembe’s assets, considering that his suspect status has now expired due to his death, making legal proceedings impossible.
“The amount of state loss is very large. If converted into the construction of educational facilities, schools, health facilities such as Puskesmas and hospitals in Papua, it would have a tangible positive impact on the welfare of the local community,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo.
