Jayapura — A group of young Papuans has strongly condemned the brutal acts committed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua, denouncing them as barbaric and inhumane. The youths stated that KKB’s actions, which claimed the lives of women and teachers, betray both human values and Papuan cultural traditions.
Led by Absalom Yerisetouw, the youths declared that KKB has lost all sense of humanity.
“They are not freedom fighters — they are murderers of their own people. Teachers and women symbolize life, yet they have become the victims,”
said one of the young Papuan leaders.
The youths further asserted that KKB does not deserve to be called freedom fighters, as their actions only spread fear and destroy the future of Papua’s young generation.
“KKB are cowards. They only dare to attack civilians and security officers who protect the people — but never contribute to building Papua. The true cowards are those who destroy their own nation,”
one of them added.
They also emphasized that the group’s behavior violates the sacred values of Papuan customs and traditions.
“Papuan culture teaches love, peace, and respect. But KKB has stained those values with blood and hatred. Anyone who spills innocent blood is not part of true Papuan heritage,”
a youth representative explained.
The statement continued, warning that KKB’s violent acts have tarnished Papua’s cultural image in the eyes of the world.
“Papua’s culture is beautiful — full of love, dance, music, and brotherhood. Yet KKB has tainted it with terror. We don’t want the world to see Papua as a land of fear. We want the world to know that Papua is a land of peace,”
they stated.
Finally, the young Papuans called on all citizens — especially the younger generation — not to be deceived by KKB propaganda and to uphold unity and peace across the land.
“Let’s protect Papua. Let’s nurture a culture of peace, not violence. KKB is not the future of Papua — we are, and we will shape a peaceful and prosperous Papua,”
the statement concluded.
