Ahead of Simultaneous Regional Elections, Head of Central Papua BMA Urges Community to Realize Democratic Voices

Nabire, Saturday, October 26, 2024– Ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) which will be held on November 27, the Head of the Central Papua Customary Deliberative Body (BMA), Melkisedek Rumawi, invited all Central Papuan people to actively participate in this democratic process. Rumawi emphasized that the voice of the community plays a very important role in determining the future of Central Papua for the next five years.

“Determining the future of Central Papua requires everyone’s participation,” said Melkisedek Rumawi.

He said that the people of Central Papua need to use their voting rights wisely to elect leaders who are able to bring positive change to the region.

Furthermore, Melkisedek reminded all parties to support the creation of a safe and peaceful Pilkada atmosphere. He hopes that the community can maintain security and order during the election process, creating a conducive atmosphere that allows the Pilkada to run smoothly and successfully.

Melkisedek also expressed his appreciation to the local government, security forces, and Pilkada organizers who have made preparations and socialization to ensure the smooth running of the election process.

“We see that all parties are committed to the success of the Pilkada. This shows that there is good cooperation for the benefit of the people of Central Papua,” he said.

Through active participation of residents, Melkisedek hopes that the community can choose a leader who is committed to the welfare and development of Central Papua. He emphasized that the 2024 Pilkada is a golden opportunity to realize the aspirations and hopes of all the people of Central Papua.

“With the spirit of togetherness, I am sure that the 2024 Pilkada will be a good first step for all of us. I invite all levels of society to play an active role in this democratic process,” concluded Melkisedek.
