MIMIKA – The Chairman of the Board of the Amungme Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK), which manages the partnership funds from PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), Leonardus Tumuka, has called on the people of Mimika to maintain a peaceful and orderly environment.
Leonardus Tumuka stated that as citizens, it is our responsibility to create and sustain a safe and conducive public order and security (Kamtibmas) situation.
“As the Chairman of YPMAK, I believe it is also important for me to share this message and provide this reminder,” he said.
“We all need to work together—as Papuans and as residents of Mimika—to keep the situation stable and peaceful, especially here in Mimika Regency,” said Leonardus during an interview at the YPMAK Office on Yosudarso Street, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, on Wednesday (September 3, 2025).
He emphasized that the appeal aims to prevent any potential conflict. Every situation, he said, should be approached thoughtfully and wisely, with the appropriate preventive measures taken.
“If we make the wrong move, it could have wider consequences. We don’t want anything to disrupt the safety and order of our community,” he added. “Therefore, let us all work together to maintain public order and security. For a safe, peaceful Timika—and ultimately, for our shared prosperity,” he concluded
