The Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Traditional Community Institution (LMA), Herman Doga, re-emphasized the importance of maintaining security stability ahead of the simultaneous regional elections scheduled for November 27, 2024. In his recent statement, he invited all elements of society to participate in creating a conducive atmosphere.
“We call on all people, especially in Jayawijaya Regency, to maintain security and peace during the regional election process until the vote counting is complete,” said Herman Doga at an event in Jayawijaya.
Herman said that community participation is very important to ensure that the regional elections run safely and peacefully. He also hopes that all stages of the regional elections can take place in an orderly manner, so that the best leaders for the people of Jayawijaya Regency can be born.
“Community contribution is very important in determining the success of the regional elections. Support for the creation of a safe and comfortable atmosphere is proof of a shared commitment to supporting this democratic process,” he added.
On that occasion, Herman also warned the public to be careful in responding to circulating information. He asked the public not to be easily provoked by news that cannot be verified.
“Don’t let fake news or provocations cause conflict. Let’s be wise in receiving and disseminating information,” he said.
Herman is optimistic that with good collaboration between the community, traditional leaders, and security forces, all stages of the Pilkada in Jayawijaya Regency can run smoothly.
“We all have a responsibility to maintain peace, for a better future,” he concluded.
