Papuan Activists Urge to Maintain Community Security and Order Ahead of Simultaneous Regional Elections in Papua

Jayapura,– Papuan activist, Denny A. Wafumilena, appealed to all levels of society in Papua to maintain security and order ahead of the simultaneous regional elections.

In his interview in Jayapura, Wednesday 21 August 2024, Denny A. Wafumilena emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive security situation amidst various developing political dynamics.

“To all Papuans, let us continue to maintain a conducive security situation and not be influenced by issues that could disturb our peace,” said Wafumilena.

He added, as Papuans, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that the regional elections can take place safely and peacefully.

Wafumilena also reminded the public to immediately report to security forces if they find potential disturbances to public order.

“If there is anything that has the potential to disturb peace, immediately report it to security so that it can be followed up quickly,” he added.

This appeal aims to ensure that the simultaneous regional elections in Papua run smoothly and safely, as well as creating a conducive atmosphere for all people in Papua.
