In his briefing, the Coordinating Minister stressed that personnel safety must remain a top priority in carrying out duties. A leader’s success is measured not only by operational achievements or arrests but also by the responsibility to protect the safety of personnel serving in the field.
“The success of a commander is measured not only by operational achievements or arrests but also by how a leader ensures the safety of the personnel under their responsibility,” said the Coordinating Minister.
In addition to emphasizing personnel safety, the Coordinating Minister highlighted the importance of leadership grounded in character, integrity, and accountability. Commanders are expected not merely to issue orders but also to pay attention to their personnel’s conditions, listen to input from those in the field, and provide support for personnel and their families.
The Coordinating Minister also underscored the importance of a humane approach in carrying out duties in operational areas, in line with the President’s directives. He emphasized that personnel must consistently treat the public with kindness and uphold humanitarian values in their service.
“In accordance with the President’s directives, our approach in operational areas must be strengthened through compassion and humanity. Always treat the people well, because soldiers come from the people, belong to the people, and serve the people. A positive attitude and a humane approach will encourage more groups on opposing sides to reconsider their position, surrender, and return to the fold,” he added.
Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister emphasized that personnel’s loyalty must remain firmly rooted in the Red and White, the Indonesian nation, and the state. Integrated collaboration and coordination among the TNI, Polri, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), regional governments, and all elements of society were also considered essential to supporting the realization of a harmonious and prosperous Papua.
In line with these directives, Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that interagency coordination and synergy are essential to supporting the implementation of police duties in Papua.
“The Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation continues to strengthen coordination and synergy with the TNI, regional governments, and all stakeholders. In carrying out our duties, we prioritize professionalism, a humane approach, and respect for humanitarian values, while maintaining personnel safety and preserving public trust,” said the Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation.
He added that efforts to maintain security stability require the support and involvement of all elements of society. Therefore, effective communication, concern for the community, and the responsible execution of duties remain essential to fostering a safe and conducive environment in Papua.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Police Commissioner Ardiansyah Daulay, S.I.K., M.H., stated that the Coordinating Minister’s directives would further strengthen personnel in carrying out their duties professionally, humanely, and responsibly. He noted that synergy between the TNI and Polri, regional governments, and all elements of society plays an important role in maintaining security stability and building public trust in Papua.
“In carrying out our duties, we are committed to prioritizing a humane approach, respecting humanitarian values, and placing the safety of personnel and the public first. We believe that sustainable security is built not only through professional performance but also through compassion, communication, and public trust. Therefore, cooperation among all stakeholders must continue to be strengthened to help realize a safe, peaceful, and prosperous Papua,” emphasized the Deputy Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation.
