NABIRE, CENTRAL PAPUA – The Nabire Police Samapta Unit continues to strengthen police services through personnel readiness and prompt responses to various public reports. During a 24-hour duty period from Monday (October 26, 2026) to Tuesday (October 27, 2026), personnel responded to several incidents by prioritizing a persuasive approach, public education, and procedures in accordance with police regulations.
The reports addressed included roadside fundraising activities, suspected road blockades, alleged assault, and a report concerning an individual suspected of being intoxicated. Each report was handled according to the circumstances on the ground as part of efforts to maintain public order and ensure the community’s sense of security.
The duty period ran from 8:00 a.m. WIT until 8:00 a.m. the following day, pursuant to Assignment Order Number Sprin/85/X/PAM.5.1./2026/PAMAPTA. On Monday evening at approximately 9:00 p.m. WIT, personnel again responded to a report of an alleged assault in the AURI area. As part of the initial handling of the case, officers delivered a request for a visum et repertum (official medical examination report for legal purposes) to Nabire Regional General Hospital at approximately 10:30 p.m. WIT to support the subsequent handling and examination process.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. WIT, on-duty personnel led by the duty officer followed up on a report concerning an individual suspected of being intoxicated in the Kalibobo area. In addition to responding to public reports, personnel continued to carry out routine duties, including guarding the Police Headquarters (Mako), receiving public complaints, and monitoring locations with the potential for public security and order disturbances. The shift handover was also conducted according to schedule, accompanied by an inventory inspection, with all items reported safe and accounted for.
These readiness measures form part of Nabire Police’s efforts to ensure that every public report receives appropriate attention and is handled in accordance with established procedures. An approach emphasizing communication and public education is also expected to help prevent local issues from escalating into broader disturbances of public security and order.
Nabire Police encourages the entire community to work together to maintain neighborhood order, respect the rights of other road users, and refrain from activities that may disrupt public interests. Residents are also urged to promptly report any incidents requiring police assistance so that they can be addressed swiftly, appropriately, and professionally.
