Police Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 Conducts Humanitarian Patrols in Muara, Puncak Jaya

Puncak Jaya, Central Papua — Security and public order in Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, remained stable on Saturday (August 29, 2026), with residents continuing their daily activities normally.

The situation was monitored by personnel from the Police Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, who conducted a humanitarian foot patrol beginning at around 9 a.m. local time.

During the patrol, personnel walked through several areas where residents were carrying out their daily activities and took the opportunity to engage directly with members of the community.

The conversations were informal, focusing on residents’ daily activities as well as security conditions in their surrounding environment.

The patrol also covered the grounds of Mewoluk One-Roof Junior High School in Muara District, Puncak Jaya. The presence of police personnel around the school was part of efforts to maintain a safe environment while strengthening communication with the school community and local residents.

During the activity, the personnel also received a warm gesture from a local woman, who voluntarily gave bananas to the police officers as provisions for their patrol.

Although simple, the gesture reflected positive interaction between police personnel and the community. Their presence was not viewed solely in the context of security duties, but also as an opportunity for residents to communicate directly with law enforcement officers.

Lukas Murib, Deputy Principal of Mewoluk One-Roof Junior High School, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the presence of personnel from the Police Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 in helping maintain security in the community, including around the school.

“We would like to thank the members of the Peace Cartenz Task Force for protecting and visiting us to ensure security together in our area, particularly in Papua. Your presence means a great deal to us and the community,” Lukas said.

Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said patrols in the region should continue to prioritize a humanitarian approach and direct communication with residents.

“Patrols are not only intended to monitor security conditions, but also provide an opportunity for personnel to be present and communicate directly with the community. Listen to what residents have to say and build good relationships while carrying out your duties,” the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026 said.

He added that the presence of police personnel among residents was expected to provide a sense of security while strengthening relations between law enforcement officers and the community.

“Through good communication, personnel can gain a better understanding of the actual conditions on the ground. A humanitarian presence is also expected to provide a sense of security and make people feel comfortable carrying out their daily activities,” the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026 added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said foot patrols allowed personnel to directly observe local conditions while interacting with residents.

“Foot patrols allow personnel to get closer to the community. When meeting residents, personnel can greet them, have conversations and directly listen to conditions in their neighborhoods. This is part of carrying out our duties while prioritizing a humanitarian approach,” the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026 said.

According to him, the simple gestures and warm reception from residents during the patrol were part of the positive communication developed between police personnel and the community.

“Simple interactions, such as talking with residents and receiving the attention shown by the community, are part of the positive relationship that needs to be maintained. Personnel must continue to respect every form of communication and create a positive atmosphere while carrying out their duties,” the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026 added.

The foot patrol proceeded safely and smoothly as residents continued their daily activities normally.

Throughout the patrol, personnel from the Police Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 continued to greet residents, monitor the school environment and maintain direct communication with members of the community.

The activity represented one of the task force’s efforts to maintain security and public order in Muara District, Puncak Jaya, while strengthening positive relations between police personnel and local residents.
