WAMENA, INDONESIA — The Papua Highlands Provincial Government is strengthening the quality of human resources among the younger generation by prioritizing early childhood education (PAUD) as a foundation for character development and discipline.
Papua Highlands Governor John Tabo, in a written statement issued in Wamena on Saturday, said the provincial and district PAUD ambassadors, known as Bunda PAUD, have a crucial role in shaping children’s character and discipline from an early age.
“We hope that the provincial and eight district Bunda PAUD can prepare our children to become useful members of society in the future by starting with the development of their character and discipline,” he said.
According to Tabo, efforts to develop a high-quality younger generation must begin at the early childhood education level. He emphasized that Bunda PAUD carries an important responsibility in providing children with a strong educational foundation.
“Bunda PAUD has a great responsibility in educating our children and providing them with a good foundation to become useful people in the future,” he said.
Tabo said the inauguration of Bunda PAUD administrators carries significant meaning in preparing a quality younger generation in Papua Highlands.
“We hope Bunda PAUD will continue working to educate our children at the earliest levels of education, namely PAUD and kindergarten, so that they can leave a positive legacy during their growth and development,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation to improve the quality of education and human resources in Papua Highlands. The Provincial Education Office, Health Office, and Women’s Empowerment Office, he said, must work together to support the development of the region’s younger generation.
“We hope Bunda PAUD Papua Highlands can become an indicator of the success of early childhood education in Indonesia, particularly in the Land of Papua,” he said.
Earlier, Governor John Tabo inaugurated the Bunda PAUD leadership structures at both the provincial and district levels across Papua Highlands. The move is part of the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen early childhood education and lay a solid foundation for the development of quality human resources in the region.
