SARMI – In an effort to help build a healthy, intelligent, and well-rounded young generation in Papua, the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation Task Force conducted an educational outreach session on the dangers of drug abuse and responsible social media use for students of Kasukwe One-Roof Elementary-Junior High School in Sarmi Regency on Wednesday (July 29, 2026).
The activity also included the distribution of gift packages and school uniforms provided by the Assistant for Operations Planning and Staff of the National Police Chief (Astamaops Kapolri) to the school as a demonstration of support and concern for education in Papua.
The activity was led directly by the Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., together with personnel from the Public Relations Task Force of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, accompanied by Bhabinkamtibmas officers and the Head of Public Relations Section of the Sarmi Police.
The presence of the personnel was warmly welcomed by teachers and students, who enthusiastically participated in the educational activities.
During the outreach session, students were given an understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, its impact on their health and future, as well as the importance of staying away from all forms of illegal drug use. The students also received guidance on responsible social media use, including the importance of verifying information, avoiding the spread of hoaxes, and utilizing digital media for positive and productive activities.
Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., said the activity was part of the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to raising awareness among the younger generation from an early age so that they can avoid the negative influence of drugs and irresponsible use of social media.
“Children are the future generation of our nation, and we must protect them together. Through this outreach, we want to equip them with an understanding of the dangers of drugs and the importance of using social media responsibly. We hope they will grow into intelligent and well-rounded individuals who can become agents of positive change in their communities,” said Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T.
Following the educational session, the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation Public Relations Task Force also handed over gift packages and school uniforms provided by the Astamaops Kapolri to the school as a form of support for improving students’ enthusiasm for learning.
The Principal of Kasukwe One-Roof Elementary-Junior High School, Yuliana Mare, expressed her appreciation for the attention and support provided by the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force to education in her area. She said the materials presented were highly beneficial to the students, particularly amid the rapid development of information technology.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Astamaops Kapolri for the donation of school uniforms distributed through the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force.

Meanwhile, Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that developing the younger generation through educational activities is part of the human-centered approach that continues to be prioritized throughout the implementation of the Damai Cartenz Operation.
“The future of Papua lies in the hands of its younger generation. Therefore, our focus is not limited to maintaining security. We also strive to build the character, knowledge, and awareness of young people through various educational activities. We hope that Papua’s children can grow up in a safe and healthy environment and remain motivated to pursue their dreams,” said the Head of the Operation.
Deputy Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that educational and development programs for students would continue to be expanded as part of efforts to prevent various potential threats that could affect the future of Papua’s children.
“Early education is a very important preventive measure. We will continue to encourage outreach programs in schools so that students develop a strong understanding of the dangers of drugs, learn to use social media wisely, and develop legal awareness and a strong commitment to education. Synergy between the National Police, schools, parents, and the community is key to developing an excellent and competitive generation of Papua,” said the Deputy Head of the Operation.
Through this activity, the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to remaining present among the community through educational programs and social initiatives that provide tangible benefits.
It is hoped that continued collaboration between the Indonesian National Police and the education sector will help create safe and conducive learning environments while nurturing a high-quality, resilient, and competitive young generation in Papua.
