Mimika, Central Papua – Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel together with the community carried out social service activities in the form of environmental cleaning and road access construction at the Muslim Cemetery (TPM) SP 2, Karang Senang Village (SP 3), Mimika Regency, Central Papua, on Monday (27/7/2026). The gotong royong activity was led by the Head of the Operations Suport of Peace Cartenz-2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Bambang Widiatmoko, S.H., M.H., as a manifestation of the National Police’s concern in helping the community as well as creating a cleaner, more organized, and easily accessible funeral environment.
The activity involved Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel with local residents. Together they clean the weeds, lift the garbage, and tidy up the cemetery area to make it more comfortable for the people who are on pilgrimage or during the funeral procession. The presence of Chief Commsissioner of Police Bambang Widyatmoko in the midst of the personnel and the community also gave encouragement and ensured that the entire series of activities went well.
After cleaning, the activity continued with the construction of a road access to the cemetery area. The development was carried out in a joint manner to facilitate the mobility of the community, especially when the weather conditions were not friendly or during the funeral procession.
In addition to providing benefits to public facilities, this activity also becomes a means of strengthening the relationship between the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel and the community. The atmosphere of togetherness is seen during the activity, where residents and personnel work together and discuss the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and preserving the gotong royong culture as part of community life.
Head of Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that social service activities are part of the National Police’s commitment to continue to provide real benefits for the community.
“Through this social service activity, we want to be present with the community in activities that provide real benefits. Gotong royong like this is one of the ways to build togetherness as well as maintain the environment so that it remains clean, comfortable, and beneficial for all,” said Head of Operation.
In line with that, Deputy Head of Peace Operations Cartenz-2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that collaboration between personnel and the community is an important capital in building trust and strengthening harmonious relationships.
“This activity is not only about cleaning the environment or building road access, but also becomes a momentum to strengthen the spirit of togetherness, social care, and gotong royong culture. We hope that synergy like this will continue to be established so that the presence of the National Police can really be felt by the community,” said Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz.
The implementation of the social service received a positive response from the community. The representative of the mothers who also helped provide consumption, Fatimah, expressed her appreciation to the National Police, especially the personnel of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, for the concern that was realized through the activity.
“We would like to thank Mr. Kapolri, especially Mr. Head of Operation Peace Cartenz and all ranks of the Republic of Indonesia Police who have helped in the construction of the access road to the SP 2 tomb in Mimika Regency, Central Papua. Hopefully activities like this will continue because the benefits are really felt by the community,” he said.
The same thing was conveyed by one of the residents who participated in the royong, Muhammad Saleh. According to him, these activities provide direct benefits as well as strengthen the relationship between the community and the apparatus.
“We feel happy because the cemetery area is cleaner and the road access is also getting better. Activities like this really help the community. We hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out because they are able to strengthen the togetherness between residents and personnel in the field,” he said.
Through this social service activity, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz hopes that the spirit of solidarity, caring for the environment, and togetherness with the community will continue to grow. The synergy that is established is expected to not only provide benefits for public facilities, but also strengthen the relationship between the National Police and the community in maintaining a safe, peaceful, and conducive kamtibmas situation in Mimika Regency.
