Jayapura – Traditional leaders in Papua emphasized the importance of support from all elements of society for the implementation of the National Strategic Program (PSN) as an effort to accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people of Papua.
Richard Ohee, the Traditional Leader of the Heram Tribe, stated that the success of the PSN is not solely the government’s responsibility but also requires the active involvement of the community, traditional leaders, youth, and students. He believes that strong synergy between all elements of the nation is a crucial factor in ensuring the smooth progress of development in various sectors.
“The success of the National Strategic Program requires the support and active participation of all elements of society and traditional leaders,” said Richard Ohee in Jayapura on Tuesday.
He believes that the various development programs implemented by the government through the PSN have a direct impact on improving the quality of life of the community, particularly through infrastructure development, economic strengthening, and expanding access to public services. Therefore, regional security and stability must be continuously maintained so that development programs can proceed according to their stated objectives.
Furthermore, Richard emphasized the importance of the younger generation’s role in maintaining unity and social harmony amidst the increasingly rapid flow of information. He urged Papuan students and youth to be critical and not easily influenced by unverified information.
“I ask my fellow students to be role models by prioritizing a positive, critical attitude to avoid social conflict,” he said.
According to Richard, security stability is a long-term investment that will determine the future of future generations of Papuans. Wisely accepting information and maintaining harmonious relations between residents are considered key assets in realizing a developed, safe, and prosperous Papua.
He also emphasized the indigenous community’s commitment to maintaining unity, strengthening their sense of nationalism, and supporting development within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
“I hope that all elements of society will continue to strengthen their sense of togetherness to support Papua’s progress within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
