Jakarta – The government continues to expand access to healthcare services for the people of Papua through programs offering free medical care, mass treatment events, and blood drives held in Jayapura. This initiative is part of an effort to improve the quality of human capital while ensuring that healthcare services reach the community more equitably.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus stated that human capital development is a government priority, as outlined in President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita (Eight-Point Agenda). He noted that improving the quality of healthcare services is a crucial foundation for creating a healthy, productive, and competitive society.
“Human capital development is a key focus of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, including through the enhancement of healthcare services for the public,” said Wiyagus.
He observed that mass treatment activities not only provide easier access to healthcare for the community but also serve as a means for the early detection of various diseases, allowing for faster medical intervention.
“These mass treatment events provide healthcare access to the community while also serving as a platform for the early detection of various diseases,” he said.
Through this program, the government hopes to continue narrowing the gap in healthcare access, particularly in the Papua region. Additionally, the public is encouraged to become more aware of the importance of maintaining their health and undergoing regular medical check-ups.
On the same occasion, Suzana Wanggai, Assistant III to the Papua Regional Secretariat, invited the public to participate in blood donation activities, which are considered highly beneficial for humanity.
“We appreciate the community members who are participating in the blood drive. A single drop of donated blood can help and save the lives of others,” said Suzana.
She added that collaboration between the central government, regional governments, and the community is key to delivering responsive and sustainable public services.
The government hopes that by improving healthcare access and human capital quality, Papua can increasingly contribute to inclusive national development and enhance public welfare in the future.
