Jayapura – The free education program policy of the Central Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) under the leadership of Governor and Deputy Governor Meki Nawipa, S.H., and Deinas Geley, S.Sos., M.Si., is the answer to the future of Central Papua’s generation.
This statement was made by Yeri Murib, a representative of the Puncak and Puncak Jaya Regencies, Central Papua Province.
Representing thousands of residents of Puncak and Puncak Jaya Regencies residing in Puncak, Puncak Jaya, and Nabire, Yeri Murib officially sent a letter of thanks to the Governor of Central Papua Province, Meki Nawipa, SH, and the Deputy Governor of Central Papua, Deinas Geley, S.Sos., M.Si.
The letter, numbered 01/6/2026, was sent specifically in response to the provincial government’s policy of waiving all education fees from junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school to university.
The letter emphasized that the free education policy is a miracle and an answer to years of prayer.
According to Yeri Murib, financial constraints have often been a barrier for children living in the mountains, valleys, and coastal areas to continue their education.
“Many families have been forced to sell land, livestock, or crops just to cover their children’s school needs. But now, the situation has completely changed. The community has noted three tangible impacts they are directly experiencing,” Yeri Murib said in the letter.
