Jayapura – The Cartenz Peace Operation (ODC) 2026 Task Force demonstrated its concern for Papuan children through community service activities at the Pelangi Orphanage in Abepura, Jayapura City, on Wednesday (April 15).
The activity directly targeted the children at the orphanage as part of the National Police’s efforts to bring a humane approach to the community, particularly to groups in need of attention and social support.
The Head of the Pelangi Orphanage, Yudith M. Renda, expressed his appreciation for the presence of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, which he believes has had a positive impact on the children at the orphanage.
“We are very grateful and thankful for the visit and attention given. This means a lot to our children and is a motivation in their daily lives,” she said.
During the activity, Task Force personnel not only distributed aid in the form of basic necessities and snacks, but also held interactive games (icebreakers) to create a warm, cheerful atmosphere and strengthen bonds with the children.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the activity was part of the National Police’s commitment to building emotional connections with the Papuan people, especially children as the next generation.
“This social service is a concrete manifestation of our concern for the children of Papua. We want to ensure that they feel the presence of the state through a humanitarian touch, not just security aspects,” said the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation.
He added that a humanistic approach will continue to be prioritized in every task carried out in the Papua region to foster a sense of security and public trust.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that similar social activities will continue as part of a strategy to strengthen relations between the National Police and the community.
“We are committed to remaining present in the community, especially for children in need. Through this activity, we hope to provide tangible benefits and foster public trust in the National Police,” he said.
The activity concluded with a group photo of Task Force personnel and the children from the orphanage, reflecting a sense of togetherness and emotional closeness.
Through this activity, the Carstensz Peace Operation Task Force emphasized its role not only as security guards but also as a social partner concerned with the future of Papuan children.
