The Papua Provincial Government has emphasized the importance of ensuring that investments not only focus on profit but also provide direct benefits to the community. This was conveyed by Ramses Limbong during a meeting with representatives of the Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia.
On the occasion, the Governor stressed that all incoming investments in Papua must contribute to job creation, improve the welfare of local communities, and support sustainable development across key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He also reminded business actors under KADIN to move beyond mere natural resource exploitation and actively participate in empowering indigenous Papuans. According to him, involving local communities in every stage of investment is essential to achieving inclusive and equitable development.
“We expect that every investment truly benefits the people of Papua, not merely contributes to economic growth figures,” he stated.
Meanwhile, KADIN welcomed the Governor’s directive and expressed its commitment to promoting investments that align with regional development goals and community welfare. The organization also plans to strengthen collaboration with local governments to ensure that investment programs are in line with the needs of the people.
Through strong synergy between the government and the business sector, it is hoped that investments in Papua will generate sustainable positive impacts and drive equitable economic growth across the region.
