Puncak Jaya – The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force reaffirms its commitment in maintaining security stability in Central Papua through firm, measurable, and professional law enforcement. On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the authorities succeeded in securing Pulan Wonda alias Kamenak who was previously on the Wanted List (DPO), who is known to be a member of the Kodap XII Lanny Jaya group, in Peruleme Village, Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency.
The perpetrator is suspected to have a long track record in various armed violence, including his involvement in the shooting of the Papuan Police Chief at that time, General Tito Karnavian, on November 28, 2012 in Pirime District, Lanny Jaya Regency.

Head of Public Relations Ops Peace Cartenz 2026 Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T when confirmed, Friday (4/3/2026) afternoon said, Pulan Wonda alias Kamenak is an active member of the armed group KKB Kodap XII Lanny Jaya, which is known to have high mobility and is involved in various attacks against security officers and civil society in the Puncak Jaya and Lanny Jaya areas.
“Where the arrest was made on Thursday, April 2, 2026, around 12.27 WIT, the team carried out monitoring in the area of Kota Mulia Regency. Peak and detect the presence of the perpetrator in a motorcycle workshop. The team then did a blocking. When the perpetrator passed by using a motorcycle, the person concerned hit the officer’s vehicle and tried to escape. The apparatus had given a warning shot twice, but it was not heeded, so a measured firm action was taken to paralyze the perpetrator on the right leg,” said the Head of Public Relations.

Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf added, a number of criminal records of Pulan Wonda alias Kamenak who are strongly suspected of being involved in violence include:
1. Year 2010 – Wandenggobak Village, Mulia District (civilian)
Victims: Lince Telenggen (injured), Yainal (Killed), Ahmad Solehan (Killed), Yokilekwo (injured)
2. Year 2010 – Lumbuk Tingginambut Village (Police Police apparatus)
Victim: Bripka Kamarul Huda (injured), Brigadier Adam Anoh (injured), Brigadier Hairudin Hamid (injured)
3. Year 2010 – Sanoba Village (Papuan Regional Police apparatus)

“The perpetrator is charged with the Criminal Act of Murder, Theft with violence that punishes the death of people and the Crime of Arson as referred to in Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Code of Criminal Law; and Article 479 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 308 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code with the threat of death penalty or life imprisonment or imprisonment for a maximum of 20 years,” he added.
The apparatus is still investigating further regarding the possibility of involvement of other parties and the network of perpetrators.
Along with this, it is reinforced by the wrong statement of a public figure who emphasized that Pulan Wonda is known to be part of the KKB group. He explained that all this time the person concerned lived in the Mulia area and his whereabouts had been known by the local community.
“He is indeed a member of OPM, and has a family of 5 years together. But now, for him to have a child, the parents want to bring it,” he said.

Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Chief Commissioner Of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added, we still put forward a humanist approach. Firm action is taken in a measurable manner, and medical treatment of the perpetrator remains a priority.
Currently, Pulan Wonda is undergoing medical treatment and will undergo further legal proceedings. The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force emphasized its commitment to continue to maintain security stability and invite the community to jointly create a safe and peaceful Papua.
