Wamena – The Papua Highlands Provincial Government, through its Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), is advocating for the implementation of an integrated warehouse system connecting central, provincial, and district levels to improve the distribution of goods.
Acting Head of Disperindag Papua Highlands, Melianus Kambu, stated on Monday in Wamena that the region currently lacks an integrated warehouse information system that can monitor the flow of goods across all administrative levels.
He emphasized that the provincial government expects support from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade to establish a comprehensive warehouse information system that would streamline the distribution of essential commodities and other goods throughout the region.
According to Kambu, the system would be closely linked to distributors and sub-distributors, enabling better tracking of incoming and outgoing goods in a coordinated manner.
“The warehouse information system, including the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG), plays a crucial role in improving supply chain efficiency, maintaining price stability, and empowering producers,” he explained.
Furthermore, the system would allow authorities to monitor the availability and movement of basic necessities across warehouse networks in all eight districts of Papua Highlands.
As a newly established regional government entity, Disperindag Papua Highlands is prioritizing integrated distribution management to ensure better control and oversight. Kambu expressed optimism that the system would enhance transparency, improve logistics, and ultimately contribute to the welfare of the community.
