Jayapura – Academic and religious leader Dr. Alfius Aninam, S.Th., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the performance of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force, which he considered to have carried out its duties well, firmly, and humanely in maintaining stability in Papua.
In his statement, Dr. Alfius Aninam assessed that the authorities’ swift action in handling various crimes, including cases related to crimes against humanity and the circulation of firearms, was worthy of appreciation because it was carried out persuasively, wisely, and judiciously.
He emphasized that criminal acts not only impact security but also hinder development, education, and health services in the community.
“Security disturbances significantly impact the education of children seeking knowledge, and hinder development and health services. This must not be allowed to continue,” he said.
According to him, the presence of the Carstensz Peace Task Force is crucial in ensuring that development processes in various regions of Papua can proceed smoothly without interference from irresponsible individuals.
Dr. Alfius Aninam also expressed his support for the authorities’ firm law enforcement measures, including in uncovering the firearms trafficking case in Jayapura Regency.
“We fully support the Task Force’s firm action against perpetrators of these crimes. This serious handling is essential for maintaining public security,” he said.
Furthermore, he expressed his hope that the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force would continue to intensify law enforcement throughout all customary areas in Papua, thereby creating a safe, peaceful, and prosperous environment for all.
He stated that synergy between security forces, community leaders, and all elements of the nation is essential to maintaining peace and promoting Papua’s progress.
He also urged the entire community to work together to maintain a conducive situation and not be easily provoked by issues that could divide unity.
“Let us work together to ensure the land of Papua remains safe, peaceful, and prosperous,” he said.
