Bank Indonesia Papua Holds Mobile Cash to 3T Region, Ensure the Availability of Money Worthy of Circulating

JAYAPURA – Bank Indonesia Representative of Papua continues to expand Rupiah money distribution services to the leading, outermost, and backward areas (3T) to ensure that people in remote areas get access to cash that is worthy of circulation.

Throughout February 2026, the monetary authority has carried out three out-of-town Mobile Cash (KKLK) activities in various remote areas of Papua. This program aims to provide enough Rupiah money, with appropriate fractions and suitable conditions to be used in community economic activities.

The Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia Papua, Warsono, said that mobile cash activities are part of Bank Indonesia’s commitment to maintain the smoothness of the payment system as well as ensure equal access to Rupiah money throughout Indonesia, including areas with high geographical challenges.

According to him, the geographical condition of Papua which is dominated by mountains, waters, and limited transportation access is not an obstacle for Bank Indonesia to continue to reach the community to remote areas.

“The provancy of Rupiah money that is suitable for circulation is the right of all Indonesian people, including those in the leading, outermost, and underdeveloped areas. Because of that, Bank Indonesia continues to make various efforts so that the public can get enough cash and good conditions,” he said.

Through the mobile cash activity, people in remote areas can exchange money that is no longer suitable for circulation and at the same time obtain money denots that are suitable for daily transaction needs.

In addition to providing money exchange services, mobile cash activities are also a means of educating the public about the importance of maintaining the quality of Rupiah money and recognizing the characteristics of the authenticity of money to prevent the circulation of counterfeit money.

With the implementation of regular mobile cash, Bank Indonesia hopes that the availability of Rupiah money in the Papua region will be maintained, so that people’s economic activities can run smoothly even in areas with limited access.
