Sentani – The Jayapura Regency Government continues to enhance the quality of education by strengthening infrastructure across various educational institutions. This effort is being carried out through the revitalization of school facilities and infrastructure covering multiple levels of education in the region.
Jayapura Regent Yunus Wonda stated that the local government is gradually improving educational facilities as part of its commitment to advancing the quality of learning. One of the concrete steps was marked by the inauguration of the revitalized education infrastructure at SMA Negeri 3 Sentani.
“Today, symbolically I have inaugurated the revitalization of education infrastructure at SMA Negeri 3 Sentani and this indicates that the facilities of every school will continue to be improved,” said Yunus Wonda in Sentani on Friday.
According to him, the development of educational facilities does not only focus on improving physical buildings but also forms part of the government’s efforts to enhance human resources in Jayapura Regency.
“By building these school facilities and infrastructure, it also becomes our commitment to improve the education ranking in Jayapura Regency,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Jayapura Regency Education Office Amelia Ondikeleuw explained that the revitalization of educational facilities and infrastructure is part of a national government program supported by funding from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
“The revitalization of educational infrastructure and facilities is a program of the central government supported by the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget,” she said.
She added that the assistance provided is not limited to the construction of school buildings but also includes the provision of technological devices to support teaching and learning activities.
“Most of the technological equipment assistance is provided to the PAUD level, while junior high schools also receive laptop assistance in addition to building construction,” she explained.
Head of SMA Negeri 3 Sentani Elizabeth Kreuta expressed appreciation for the government’s support in improving educational facilities at the school she leads. According to her, the assistance helps the school meet the standards for educational infrastructure.
“The assistance helps the school meet the standards of educational facilities and infrastructure which have been limited,” she said.
She noted that through the revitalization program, the school received several new facilities, including a student dormitory, a school health unit room, a counseling room, toilets, and two additional buildings to support teaching and learning activities.
With the improvement of these facilities, it is expected that the learning process at SMA Negeri 3 Sentani can run more effectively and contribute to improving the overall quality of education in Jayapura Regency.
