Jayapura Regency Government Committed to Strengthening Educational Infrastructure

Sentani – The Jayapura Regency Government, Papua, is committed to strengthening educational infrastructure in the region by revitalizing facilities and infrastructure at 19 levels of education, from early childhood education (PAUD) to senior high school (SMA/SMK).

“Today, I symbolically inaugurated the revitalization of educational infrastructure at SMA Negeri 3 Sentani, and this demonstrates our continued improvement of facilities at each school,” said Jayapura Regent Yunus Wonda in Sentani on Friday.

According to Wonda, in addition to physical development, his administration is also continuing to improve the quality of human resources (HR) to ensure education in Jayapura Regency continues to advance and develop.

“The construction of these facilities and infrastructure at this school also demonstrates our commitment to improving the education ranking in Jayapura Regency,” he said.

The Head of the Jayapura Regency Education Office, Amelia Ondikeleuw, stated that the educational infrastructure and facilities revitalization program is an effort to improve educational facilities at each school.

“The revitalization of educational infrastructure and facilities is a central government program supported by the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget,” he said.

He explained that the assistance not only includes the construction of school buildings but also the provision of educational support facilities such as computers and laptops for several schools.

“The most technological equipment assistance was provided to early childhood education (PAUD) and junior high schools (SMP), which also received laptops in addition to building construction,” he said.

SMA Negeri 3 Sentani Principal Elizabeth Kreuta said her school appreciates the assistance provided through the revitalization program for the construction of facilities and infrastructure.

“This assistance helps the school meet the standards for educational facilities and infrastructure, which have been limited,” she said.

She added that through this program, SMA Negeri 3 Sentani received several new facilities, such as student dormitories, a school health unit, a guidance and counseling room, restrooms, and two additional buildings.
