Police Engage with Residents in Kulirik, Humanistic Approach of Damai Cartenz Task Force Strengthens Sense of Security

PUNCAK JAYA – A warm atmosphere was seen as personnel of the Damai Cartenz Task Force 2026 patrolled through Kulirik District toward Mulia Town, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Wednesday afternoon (March 4, 2026). During the security patrol, officers stopped at several residential areas, greeting residents and having casual conversations with people carrying out their daily activities.

The patrol was not merely aimed at ensuring that the security situation remained stable. Officers also took time to speak directly with residents, listening to their daily stories while receiving various aspirations and concerns from the community. This simple interaction created a friendly atmosphere among residents. Several children were even seen approaching the officers and chatting with them comfortably and without hesitation.

The presence of the security personnel was welcomed positively by the community. Several local community leaders expressed their appreciation for the routine patrols, which they believe help create a sense of safety while also demonstrating the officers’ concern for the well-being of residents in the area.

The Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that a humanistic approach remains the main strategy in maintaining security stability in Papua. According to him, the presence of security personnel must be able to build closeness and mutual trust with the community.

“We want the community to feel that the presence of the police is not only about maintaining security, but also about being part of the community itself. Persuasive communication and a family-oriented approach are key to building trust and maintaining a conducive environment,” said Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that dialogical patrols play an important role in strengthening the relationship between security personnel and communities in the mountainous regions of Papua.

“Through direct interaction like this, officers can better understand the real conditions faced by the community. The closeness that develops will facilitate communication, allowing residents to be more open in sharing information related to the security of their environment,” said Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga.

After completing the patrol and community interactions, all personnel returned to Kulirik Post for consolidation. Throughout the activity, the security situation in Kulirik District was reported to be safe and under control.

Through such simple yet meaningful activities, Damai Cartenz Operation 2026 continues to present a more human and approachable image of the Indonesian National Police in Papua—not only as guardians of security, but also as partners and friends who care about the daily lives of the community.
