PUNCAK JAYA – The atmosphere in Kulirik District felt slightly different that afternoon. Amid the cool air of the Papuan highlands, several personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 were seen patrolling along the road toward Mulia City. However, their patrol was not solely focused on monitoring security; it also carried a simple mission: greeting residents and strengthening their connection with the community (4/3/2026).
As they passed through several villages, the personnel briefly stopped. They greeted residents sitting in front of their homes, chatted casually with elders, and interacted with children playing around the neighborhood. Smiles and laughter accompanied the light conversations that took place.
Some children approached the officers curiously. With friendly gestures, the personnel invited them to talk and share stories. What initially seemed like a shy encounter gradually turned into a warm and natural interaction.
During these moments, residents also shared stories about their daily lives and the conditions in their villages. For personnel in the field, such interactions provide valuable opportunities to listen directly to the community’s aspirations while gaining a better understanding of social conditions in the highland areas.
The presence of friendly and approachable officers received positive responses from the local community. Residents appreciated the approach, noting that it not only provides a sense of security but also demonstrates that the authorities genuinely care about the well-being of the people.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that a humanistic approach plays an essential role in maintaining security stability in Papua.
“Through warm communication and a family-oriented approach, we aim to build trust with the community. The presence of security personnel should be felt as that of a friend who is ready to listen and help,” he said.
A similar statement was conveyed by the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., who stated that dialogical patrols are an effective way to strengthen relations between officers and the community.
“Direct interactions like these allow our personnel to understand the real conditions faced by the community. The closeness that develops also makes communication easier, enabling residents to be more open in sharing information related to security,” he explained.
After completing the patrol and engaging with residents, all personnel returned to the Kulirik Post for consolidation. Throughout the activity, the situation in Kulirik District remained safe and conducive.
Through simple yet meaningful actions such as greeting and conversing with residents, Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 continues to present a more human side of the Indonesian National Police one that is not only responsible for maintaining security but also acts as a friend who cares about the daily lives of the people of Papua.
