Jayapura – The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 once again demonstrated its concern for the community by distributing basic necessities and providing psychosocial support to children at Muhammadiyah Orphanage and Pembawah Terang Orphanage in Jayapura on Thursday (26/2).
The activity was carried out at Muhammadiyah Orphanage and at Barrack 6 of the Papua Police Mobile Brigade School (SPN Polda Papua), which currently serves as a temporary shelter for children from Pembawah Terang Orphanage following a fire that damaged their orphanage building some time ago.
During the event, Ban Ops personnel led by First Inspector Ali Akbar distributed food supplies and snacks to a total of 70 children from both orphanages.
In addition to logistical assistance, the Ban Ops Task Force team also provided psychosocial support to 40 displaced children from Pembawah Terang Orphanage. The support was delivered through ice-breaking and energizer activities aimed at easing negative emotions and reducing trauma following the fire incident.
Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Faizal Ramadhani, stated that the activity began with coordination with the orphanage administrators to ensure that the assistance provided met the actual needs on the ground.
“The results show that coordination went well, allowing the distribution of basic necessities and psychosocial support to be carried out safely, orderly, and smoothly,” he said.
According to him, both the administrators and the children expressed gratitude for the assistance and attention given. The children who participated in the psychosocial sessions appeared more cheerful and actively engaged throughout the activities.
Meanwhile, speaking at a separate location, Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, emphasized that humanitarian activities are part of the Task Force’s commitment to fostering a sense of security while also demonstrating social care within the community.
“The Cartenz Peace Task Force is not only responsible for maintaining security, but also strives to be present in assisting the community, particularly vulnerable groups such as children affected by disasters,” he said.
He expressed hope that the activity would help ease the burden of the orphanage administrators and encourage the children to remain motivated in carrying out their daily activities.
The Cartenz Peace Task Force 2026 affirmed that it will continue conducting humanitarian initiatives as part of its broader efforts to maintain stability and promote the well-being of communities across Papua.
