At the scene, officers found two bodies severely burned among the remains of the security post building, which had also been set on fire. Both bodies were evacuated to Nabire Regional Hospital (RSUD Nabire) for identification and autopsy. The identities of the victims are still pending medical examination due to the severe burn conditions of the bodies.

Authorities also discovered a company vehicle with four bullet holes on the front side. Damage was also observed on the radiator, which had been pierced by projectiles. However, no bullet casings have been found at the scene, allegedly because the shooting was carried out from a distance of approximately 50 to 100 meters.

Preliminary investigations indicate that four witnesses, all company employees, have been questioned. According to their statements, the attack was preceded by gunshots, and approximately three perpetrators were seen at the scene. The exact number of assailants remains under further investigation.

Regarding claims of responsibility circulating on social media, authorities emphasized that they will not draw conclusions based on unverified information. The investigation is being conducted professionally, relying on evidence and field findings.

“We do not base conclusions on unilateral claims. All procedures are being carried out in accordance with the law and grounded in evidence,” Yusuf stressed.

Police are also examining information related to the alleged seizure of firearms. However, it has been confirmed that no Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel were assigned to guard the PT location, and any information regarding weapons is still under investigation.
