Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Selatan has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding basic necessities by distributing humanitarian logistics assistance to Danowage and Yaniruma villages. The initiative comes in response to limited access to essential supplies in remote areas affected by security challenges and transportation constraints.
The aid distribution was carried out in coordination with local regency authorities and supported by joint security personnel to ensure the safe and orderly delivery of supplies. The process was conducted in stages to guarantee that assistance reached residents directly and on target.
The relief packages included rice, ready-to-eat food, staple goods, and basic medical supplies. Priority was given to vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and healthcare workers who continue to serve in the affected areas.
A representative of the South Papua Provincial Government emphasized that the assistance reflects the government’s presence and responsibility toward its citizens.
“We are ensuring that the state is present to protect and meet the basic needs of our people, particularly in areas facing limited access. This assistance is not only about logistics, but also about our commitment to safeguarding the welfare and safety of the community,” the official stated.
The representative further added that monitoring efforts will continue to assess developments on the ground.
“Distribution is being carried out in a measured and sustainable manner. We are coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that community needs are fulfilled and that the security situation continues to improve,” the statement continued.
In addition to delivering humanitarian aid, security personnel remain deployed to maintain stability, allowing social and economic activities in Danowage and Yaniruma to gradually return to normal.
Through cross-sector collaboration, the South Papua Provincial Government aims to ensure that assistance is delivered safely, effectively, and as part of a sustained effort to strengthen community resilience in remote regions.
