Pertamina–SERUNI KMP Strengthens Access to Clean Water in Papua Province

JAYAPURA — PT Pertamina (Persero) through Subholding Commercial & Trading PT Pertamina Patra Niaga collaborates with Women’s Solidarity for Indonesia (SERUNI) Merah Putih Cabinet (KMP) in strengthening access to clean water for the community in Papua Province. This collaboration is realized through the development of clean water facilities at three strategic points as part of the efforts to improve the quality of life of the community sustainably.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Regional Papua Maluku PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Ispiani Abbas, said that the construction of the clean water facility is a form of Pertamina’s commitment in supporting the fulfillment of the basic needs of the community, especially in areas with limited access to clean water.

“We, Pertamina through Subholding Commercial & Trading PT Pertamina Patra Niaga together with SERUNI KMP, collaborate to build three clean water well points located in Pasir Dua, Imbi, and Kampung Mosso which is a border area in Jayapura City,” said Ispiani Abbas in Jayapura, Friday.

He explained, the construction of clean water facilities includes the installation of well drilling machines, the construction of water towers and towers, electrical installations, and the provision of water faucets that can be used directly by the local community for daily needs.

According to Ispiani, the presence of this clean water facility is expected to provide long-term benefits for the community, not only to meet the needs of household consumption, but also to support the health and social activities of residents.

“Through this program, we hope that the benefits can be felt sustainably by the community, including in border areas that have had their own challenges in access to clean water,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Division IV SERUNI KMP, Sri Suparni Bahlil Lahadalia, expressed his appreciation for the support and collaboration given by Pertamina Patra Niaga. According to her, the synergy between BUMN and this women’s organization is a real step in supporting the welfare of the Papuan people.

“We really appreciate this collaboration. Access to clean water is a very important basic need for the community, and the presence of this program is expected to help improve the quality of life of Papuan people,” said Sri Suparni.

This clean water facility development program is part of Pertamina’s commitment in carrying out corporate social responsibility (CSR), as well as supporting the government’s efforts in equalizing development and fulfilling the basic needs of the community in Papua.
