PUNCAK JAYA – A warm and lively atmosphere welcomed Saturday morning (January 31, 2026) at SD Inpres Dondobaga in Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency. Amid limited facilities and the long distances that challenge access to education in Papua’s mountainous region, the presence of personnel from the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force brought something different: smiles, enthusiasm, and lessons about love for the nation.
Eight personnel from Sector IV of the Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, led by AKP I Putu Wardana, S.H., visited the school to conduct an outreach session aimed at instilling values of nationalism and discipline from an early age. The activity began at 9:00 a.m. local time and unfolded in a warm and engaging atmosphere with the students.
Inside the modest classroom, the children did more than just listen. They took part in storytelling, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and educational games. They learned about the meaning of the Red and White flag, the importance of going to school, and simple habits that build discipline, such as being on time and showing respect for others.
This initiative is part of the human-centered approach of the Damai Cartenz Operation, which seeks to build close connections with Papua’s younger generation while strengthening character development amid ongoing social challenges.
Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, stated that building a peaceful Papua is not achieved through security measures alone, but also through education and the cultivation of national values.
“Children are the future of Papua. When they are taught from an early age to love their country, practice discipline, and stay motivated to learn, we are preparing a generation that is strong, intelligent, and capable of bringing peace to their own land,” Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani said.
He emphasized that engagement with students is a long-term investment in sustainable stability.
“Our presence is not only about security, but also about building hope. Police officers must be friends to children, providing a sense of safety while encouraging them to dream big,” he added.
Teachers and students welcomed the activity with enthusiasm. The children eagerly asked questions, laughed, and even competed for the chance to answer questions from the officers. For them, it was not an ordinary school day, but a memorable experience.
Through this simple yet meaningful activity, the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation demonstrated that keeping Papua safe also means safeguarding the future of its young generation—starting from small classrooms in the remote highlands of Puncak Jaya.
