PUNCAK — The Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the series of patrols carried out by the Enforcement Task Force of Operation Damai Cartenz (ODC) 2026 are part of ongoing efforts to foster sustainable peace and a lasting sense of security for the people of Papua.
“Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 is present to keep Papua safe and peaceful. Every patrol is conducted using a humanist approach, prioritizing dialogue and a calming presence, so that communities can carry out their daily activities with a sense of security,” Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani stated.
In line with this commitment, the ODC Enforcement Task Force in the Puncak Sector conducted routine patrols in several vulnerable areas to ensure a conducive security situation while simultaneously strengthening communication with local communities.
In the Ilaga Post area, ODC 2026 Enforcement Task Force personnel carried out patrols along traditional routes previously used by armed criminal groups. During the activity, officers interacted directly with residents living near the patrol routes and identified several honai (traditional houses) that were no longer in use. Overall, the security situation in the Ilaga Post area remained safe and under control.
Meanwhile, patrols in the Sinak Post area were conducted after Friday prayers, covering several routes including TK Kandoe, SMP Negeri 1 Sinak, the Temporary Evacuation Post of West Sinak District, Kembru, and Bina. Throughout the patrol, the security situation was observed to be safe and conducive.
The patrol activities received positive responses from the local community. A community leader, Yohanes Wenda, expressed his appreciation for the approach adopted by security personnel under Operation Damai Cartenz 2026.
“We see the police present in a respectful and calm manner. The patrols are carried out peacefully, and officers greet residents along the way. The presence of Operation Damai Cartenz makes us feel safer, and we hope this peace will continue,” Yohanes Wenda said.
Overall, the patrols conducted by the ODC 2026 Enforcement Task Force in the Ilaga and Sinak Post areas proceeded safely and in an orderly manner. These activities form part of the ongoing commitment of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 to maintain Papua as a safe, peaceful, and harmonious region through a humanist approach and community-oriented service.
