Maintaining Stability in Mountainous Papua, the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force Checks Personnel Readiness in the Bintang Mountains

PEGUNNUNGAN BINTANG — The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2026 conducted assistance and personnel readiness checks at the Tactical Command Post (Poskotis) 431/SSP/3/3 Yonif 4 Rajawali Kostrad, Serambakon District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Papua Mountains Province, Wednesday afternoon (January 21, 2026).

This activity aimed to ensure personnel operational readiness and provide motivation to Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel serving in mountainous areas with the unique characteristics of Papua.

The assistance was led by the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2026, Senior Commissioner Bambang Widiatmoko, S.H., M.H., along with several Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force officials. This activity is part of the task force’s routine agenda to ensure optimal security operations throughout Papua.

In addition to inspecting the personnel and supporting facilities at the post, the group also held a coordination meeting and a friendly visit with TNI personnel assigned to the 431st Command Post of the 4th Infantry Battalion, Rajawali Kostrad. The activity continued with a joint TNI-Polri patrol in the Serambakon District as a form of synergy in maintaining security stability.

The Head of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that this assistance activity demonstrated the leadership’s attention and concern for personnel serving in the field.

“This activity aims to maintain solidarity, strengthen TNI-Polri synergy, and provide moral support to personnel carrying out security duties in Papua, facing various challenges and security dynamics,” said Brigadier General Pol. Faizal Ramadhani.

He added that the presence of leaders in the field is expected to increase the morale, loyalty, and professionalism of personnel in carrying out their duties to maintain a safe and conducive public order and security situation.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of building harmonious relationships between task forces and with regional police forces.

“Strong synergy between task forces and good coordination with regional police forces are key to the operation’s success. Maintaining solidarity will expedite the handling of the situation and create sustainable security stability,” he explained.

Through these assistance activities and joint patrols, the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force affirms its commitment to maintaining security and stability in Pegunungan Bintang Regency and the Papua region as a whole by prioritizing professionalism, cooperation, and a humanistic approach.
