Nabire — The Central Papua Provincial Government has reaffirmed its commitment to making education a key pillar of regional development.
This policy is considered a strategic step to improve the quality of human resources while accelerating sustainable development across the province.
Governor of Central Papua, Meki Fritz Nawipa, stated that education is a long-term investment that must remain the government’s top priority.
“The development of Central Papua should not only be measured by infrastructure, but by the quality of its people. Therefore, education has been placed as our main development sector,” Governor Nawipa said.
He explained that the provincial government has prepared various supporting programs, including free education for students at different levels. The program aims to ensure that all children in Central Papua have access to education without being hindered by economic barriers. “There should be no child in Central Papua who drops out of school due to financial constraints,” he emphasized.
In addition to expanding access to education, the provincial government is also focusing on improving the quality and welfare of teachers, particularly those serving in remote and underdeveloped areas. According to the governor, teachers play a crucial role in the success of human resource development. “Teachers are the frontline of education. Their welfare and competence must be a shared priority,” he added.
By positioning education as the main sector of development, the Central Papua Provincial Government hopes to produce a competitive and high-quality young generation that will drive the region’s future development.
