Jayapura – The Central Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) emphasized the importance of improving teacher quality as an effort to achieve quality education, given that education is a priority in the province.
Central Papua Governor Meki Fritz Nawipa, in a statement in Jayapura on Tuesday, stated that improving teacher quality is a shared responsibility for a better future for children.
According to Governor Nawipa, the education sector is one of the regional development priorities to produce a smart and competitive young generation in Central Papua.
“We remain committed to supporting the improvement of the quality and welfare of teachers, especially those working in areas with limited internet access,” said Governor Nawipa.
He explained that his administration expressed appreciation to the 801 teachers who have completed the 2025 Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program, a collaboration between the Central Papua Provincial Government and the SM-3T Institute Community Foundation.
“This collaboration demonstrates the regional government’s commitment to improving teacher quality as the main foundation for human resource development in Papua,” said Governor Nawipa.
He added that the bright future of Central Papua depends on the quality of education and teaching staff, so his office continues to provide support for teachers, especially those working in the 3T (Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost) areas.
