Wamena — The Jayawijaya Regency Education Office (Disdik), Papua Highlands Province, is encouraging the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) coding and deep learning in educational institutions across the region.
To support this initiative, the Jayawijaya Education Office organized a workshop on deep learning and AI coding, attended by school principals from across the regency.
Head of the Jayawijaya Education Office, Kaleb Asso, said in Wamena on Saturday that AI coding is a learning approach aimed at fostering deeper and more holistic understanding.
“Artificial intelligence coding combines programming skills with AI concepts to create digital solutions, while also developing students’ computational thinking skills and digital ethics,” he said.
According to him, this concept has been widely integrated into modern education curricula, including coding and AI programs initiated by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), to prepare students for the digital era.
“AI coding aims to improve the quality of education in Jayawijaya Regency by utilizing available technology,” he added.
He explained that the learning direction set by the central government through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education should be followed and implemented throughout Indonesia, including in Jayawijaya Regency.
“We realize how important the implementation of deep learning and artificial intelligence coding is in the teaching and learning process to develop the potential of students in Jayawijaya Regency,” he said.
He further noted that deep learning and AI coding are priority programs of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to transform education.
“We hope school principals understand the importance of this learning approach and are committed to implementing the outcomes of the training in their respective institutions. This activity is expected to have a positive impact on educational institutions in Jayawijaya Regency,” he concluded.
