Timika – Efforts to maintain public security and order in Papua are not only carried out through patrols and law enforcement, but also through a social approach that directly touches the lives of residents. This is what was shown by the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Iptu I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., when mingling with Papuan mothers by buying local fruits on Jl. Agimuga Mile 32, Timika, Friday (12/19/2025).
The presence of Iptu I Gde Pradana at the fruit sales location took place naturally and full of warmth. He seems to be chatting casually, greeting, and interacting directly with the traders who are selling their garden produce. The atmosphere reflects the emotional closeness between the security forces and the community, without barriers or distance.
This simple activity is part of the humanitarian approach strategy of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force in creating a conducive kamtibmas situation. By being present directly in the middle of the community’s economic activities, the apparatus not only builds two-way communication, but also shows empathy and concern for the welfare of the citizens.
In addition to having a positive impact on social relations, this local fruit shopping activity also provides economic benefits for Papuan mothers. Support for local garden products is expected to help increase the income of small traders as well as strengthen the people’s economy in the Timika region.
Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.I.K., M.H., said that this approach is an important part of the implementation of the Cartenz Peace Operation. According to him, the presence of officers must be felt really by the community, not only in the context of security, but also in daily life.
“The Cartenz Peace Operation prioritizes a balance between law enforcement and a humanist approach. Simple activities carried out by personnel in the field are able to strengthen the public’s trust in the National Police,” said Brigadier General of Police Faizal Ramadhani.
In line with this, Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that direct interaction with the community is an effective means to understand the social conditions in the assignment area.
“The humanist approach allows personnel to know directly the dynamics and needs of the community. From here, security stability can be maintained sustainably,” said Kombes Pol Adarma Sinaga.
Through social activities that touch the roots of community life, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force hopes to build a harmonious relationship between security forces and residents. With trust and togetherness that continues to be maintained, a safe, peaceful, and conducive security situation in the Timika region and its surroundings is expected to continue to be maintained.
