Jayapura — A prominent Papuan religious leader, Reverend Dr. Yones Wenda, expressed his highest appreciation to the Indonesian National Police through the Operation Peaceful Cartenz Task Force for its success in maintaining security stability across Papua ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebrations, Friday (December 19, 2025).
Reverend Yones stated that law enforcement actions carried out against armed criminal groups (KKB) have significantly contributed to the creation of a safer and more conducive environment for the community. According to him, improved security conditions are essential to ensure the smooth running of social, economic, and religious activities.
“We can clearly see that the efforts carried out under Operation Peaceful Cartenz have helped restore a sense of safety and calm among the people. This is especially important ahead of Christmas,” Reverend Yones said.
He emphasized that security stability is a fundamental foundation for sustainable peace in Papua. Therefore, he voiced full support for the continued professional and consistent work of the Operation Peaceful Cartenz Task Force.
He also urged the public to refrain from unlawful acts and to reject any form of provocation that could disrupt public order and security.
