Jayapura — After attending the Presisi Kamtibmas Partner Assembly in Papua, Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, together with the Papua Regional Police Chief, continued the agenda by reviewing several social and economic empowerment activities held around the event area. These programs reflect the National Police’s commitment to strengthening relations with the community and supporting local economic development in Papua, Tuesday (9/12).
One of the highlighted activities was the Papua MSME exhibition, showcasing various featured products—from traditional Papuan handicrafts and processed local foods to creative works by MSME actors and Bhayangkari members.
“The MSME products from Papua are outstanding. The National Police will continue to support the strengthening of the local community’s economy because security is born from prosperity,” said the Deputy Chief while visiting the MSME booths.
In addition to the MSME exhibition, the delegation also inspected social service and health service activities as part of the police’s concern for the community. Free medical services, distribution of essential goods, and health consultation facilities were provided for attendees.
Furthermore, the police also distributed school supplies to children as an effort to foster the learning spirit of Papua’s young generation. The Deputy Chief personally handed over the packages, which were warmly welcomed by parents and students.
“Papuan children are the future. We want to ensure they receive support in both education and health. This is part of the police’s moral responsibility to be present among the community,” said Commissioner General Dedi.
He emphasized that social activities such as MSME empowerment, social services, and educational assistance will continue as part of the police’s humanistic approach in maintaining security and harmony in Papua.
“Kamtibmas is not only about patrols and law enforcement. It is also about touching the hearts of the people, building trust, and being present in their daily lives. That is what we are doing here in Papua,” he concluded.
