WAROPEN,— Chairman of the Grand Deliberation Committee (Mubes) IV of the Waropen Indigenous Community, Andri Wonatorey, urged all the people of Waropen Regency to maintain security and order ahead of the implementation of Mubes.
He also reminded the public not to be easily provoked by negative issues related to the burning of Makota Cenderawasih by the Papuan Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA).
In his statement, Andri Wonatorey emphasized that the action cannot be justified, but he invited the public to restrain themselves and not respond with emotion.
“Let’s not be influenced or provoked by negative issues that have the potential to divide the brotherhood. Let us entrust the process of handling this case to the authorities, namely the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP),” he said on Friday (10/24/2025).
Andri emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive atmosphere in Waropen Regency, especially ahead of the implementation of Mubes IV of the Waropen Indigenous People. According to him, regional stability is the key to the success of the traditional activity.
“Let’s, from Kamarsano to Kali baru, from Kayura Peak to Nau Apung Island, together maintain peace and security in Waropen. Waropen belongs to us Together, Waropen is Papua, Waropen is Indonesia,” he said.
He also quoted the statement of the Minister of Law and Human Rights who said that Waropen is an area that upholds the value of nationalism and diversity.
“We maintain solidarity and brotherhood so that this Mubes IV takes place safely, orderly, and full of joy. Lord Jesus bless us all,” concluded Andri Wonatorey.
