Jayapura – Ramses Wally, Ondofolo (traditional leader) of Babrongko Village, has called on the people of Papua—particularly in the Tabi and Saireri regions—to remain calm and accept the Constitutional Court’s (MK) decision on the elected governor of Papua for the 2025–2030 period, which will be announced on September 17, 2025.
Ramses emphasized the importance of wisdom in responding to the ruling and urged Papuans not to be easily provoked by unverified information, especially content circulating on social media.
“People of Papua must think wisely and not be swayed by unverified news on social media,” he said on Tuesday (Sept. 16).
He further underlined the need to safeguard peace and security across Papua.
“Let us work together to keep the situation safe and peaceful, because Papua is a land of peace and blessing,” he added.
Ramses also reminded both candidate pairs and their campaign teams to avoid overreacting to the Court’s decision, which could potentially provoke unrest and disturb public order.
“The Constitutional Court’s decision is final in the electoral process of Papua. Whoever is elected will be the governor for all Papuans, and with a definitive governor in place, development can move forward for the progress of the people,” Ramses stressed.
