Act Governor Agus Fatoni Leads Rakor Preparation Ahead of the Visit of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to Papua

Jayapura, Papua — Acting (Pj) Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, chaired the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) to prepare for the working visit of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Rakor which took place at Gedung Negara, Jayapura, Monday (9/15/2025), was attended by the ranks of the Papua Provincial Government, Jayapura City Government, and Jayapura Regency Government. In addition, there were also elements of TNI-Polri, Forkopimda, presidential advance team, Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), and other related parties were also present.

In the meeting, Acting Governor Agus Fatoni said that the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia will visit a number of strategic locations in Papua, including public service facilities, national priority program areas, and traditional markets to see directly the conditions and activities of the community.

“In principle, the Vice President’s visit is part of the central government’s efforts to ensure that the development program runs as expected and provides real benefits to the Papuan people,” Fatoni explained.

Fatoni also invited all the people to participate in the success of the working visit agenda of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia by maintaining security, order, and peaceful atmosphere in Papua.

“We hope that the community will continue to maintain conduciveness. The presence of the Vice President in Papua is an important momentum that shows the central government’s attention to the land of Papua,” said Fatoni.

The visit of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to Papua is considered to be a strategic moment to strengthen the synergy between the central government, local governments, and security apparatus. With careful coordination, it is hoped that the entire series of visit activities can run smoothly, safely, and successfully.
