Papua – Saireri traditional leader, Wilem Zaman Bonai, has called on all Papuan communities to continue safeguarding unity and peace in the land of Papua. He emphasized that the region’s ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity is a treasure to be cherished together, not a reason for division.
In his statement, Wilem Zaman Bonai reminded the people not to be easily swayed by hoaxes or messages of intolerance.
“Hoaxes and provocations only lead to division, while Papua needs peace in order to progress and prosper,” he said.
He also urged the public to be more discerning when receiving information, particularly on social media.
“Let us verify the truth before spreading unconfirmed news. Unity is our strength, and peace is the legacy we must preserve for future generations,” he added.
This call is expected to serve as a reminder for all elements of Papuan society to prioritize brotherhood, avoid conflict, and ensure that Papua remains safe and harmonious.
