The victory of Brother Matius Derek Fakhiri (MDF) as Governor of Papua is not merely numbers written on paper. It is not only about ballot boxes that have been counted. It is a sign of blessing from God, from nature, and from the ancestors of Papua. It is the voice of the Papuan people united—those who long for peace, who desire to live well together in this great land.
Papua is a land blessed by Lord Jesus. The mountains, rivers, seas, and forests have all witnessed the long journey of the Papuan people in search of a leader who truly stands with the people. Now, God has chosen MDF to lead this land with heart. Not with anger, not with hatred, but with love, peace, and a new hope.
I want to say to all Papuans—whether you supported MDF or another candidate—let us see this not as the victory of one group, but as a shared victory. The land of Papua has spoken, the ancestors have shown the way. Let us receive this with open hearts, with the spirit of true warriors, and preserve the peace that God has already given.
Let there be no more division. Let there be no more voices of hatred. As the wise Marcus Aurelius once said:
“The greatest victory is to conquer yourself.”
And as the Word of God says:
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)
Now is the time for Papua to rise. It is time for us to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, to build this land without barriers. MDF has been given the mandate, but he cannot work alone. His success will depend on the heart of us all—if we are willing to support with sincerity.
Remember, this victory is not only the decision of men. It is the blessing of God, the prayers of the ancestors, and the voice of the Papuan land. Let us guard it together: a peaceful Papua, a united Papua, a dignified Papua.
Lord Jesus has chosen MDF. Lord Jesus Himself has established him as Governor of Papua.
